Teacher notes¶
Print one card per project. Fold in half to stand on a table, or tape flat next to each device. Fill in the project name, builders, and short address by hand — or type them in before printing.
Making the QR codes — free, no account¶
Any free QR generator works. Two things matter:
- Always print the short address underneath. QR codes fail — bad lighting, a cracked phone camera, a grandparent without a QR scanner. The typed address is the fallback that saves the moment.
- Test every single code with your own phone before showcase day. A code that doesn't scan in front of a student's family is a genuinely bad memory.
Privacy check before anything is printed
Open every page one more time before generating codes:
- ❌ No student full names
- ❌ No photos of students
- ❌ No addresses, phone numbers, or emails
- ❌ No school address or identifying details
- ❌ No unreviewed external links
This is the last gate before family and visitors see it. Don't delegate it.
"The hardest part was…"¶
That line does more work than anything else on the card.
It shifts the conversation from "is this impressive?" to "what did you overcome?" — which is the honest measure of a beginner's project, and it protects the student whose project is simple but hard-won. Make sure every student fills it in.
If the internet is down on showcase day¶
The Week 34 lesson has a full gallery-walk fallback. Print screenshots in advance as insurance — it costs a few sheets of paper and rescues the last class of the year.
